If you’re into cars, chances are good that you already know about Top Gear, the BBC program where three hosts — Jeremy Clarkson, James May, Richard Hammond — not only talk about cars: they conduct tests and investigate the cars in ways that other car enthusiasts can only dream of.

In this clip, Jeremy Clarkson tests Toyota’s claim that their Hilux pick-up is virtually indestructible.

So this guy is in Chicago getting tips for the kind of driving they right tickets for in Dallas? Yeah, that’s fair.

Okay, let me be honest: people who drive like this in Dallas don’t get ticketed nearly often enough.

In our defensive driving classes, we tell people not to drive across flooded roads because you can’t see whatever potholes, debris or other hazards the water might be hiding.

This just never occurred to me.

In 2004,  Tomas Delgado was driving 70 in a 55 mph area when he hit a 17-year-old bicyclist with his car, killing the boy. Criminal charges against him were dismissed, but two years after the wreck, he sued his victim’s family for  damages to his Audi A-8 and for car rental costs.

One car manages to literally leap ahead of a competitor at the Autoquad Races 2010, held at Courses de Bazous St Ferdinand, Quebec.

The 19-year-old driver of this Pontiac Firebird survived the crash that took his car into the air before breaking it into three large chunks against an overpass support column. The camera that filmed this crash was in the Sugarcreek Township, Ohio police car that the young man was passing when the crash occurred.
