With his large eyes, high hair and round face, Marty Allen was destined to become a comedian. Born in Pennsylvania, Marty began his career performing in small clubs while attending college. Eventually, he became part of the comedy team of Allen & Rossi.
Together they made a bunch of comedy recordings and appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show dozens of times. His catch-phrase “Hello Dere!” eventually became a national sensation. They were in the comedy film The Last of the Secret Agents, a parody of James Bond decades before Austin Powers.
Eventually, the act ended and Marty became a dramatic actor. Throughout the decades, he has appeared on hundreds of television shows in different roles. He also became a frequent guest on games shows like The Hollywood Squares and Password.
Just a few of his quips:
- “A study of economics usually reveals that the best time to buy anything is last year.”
- “If a man works like a horse for his money, there are a lot of girls anxious to take him down the bridal path.”
Today, he still performs in Las Vegas and on cruise ships. To find out where he's going to be, go to martyallenhellodere.com.[social-bio]
