Rocket Man Birthday!

“Fame attracts lunatics,” is just one of the wise word to come from rock superstar and British knight Sir Elton John.

Born Reginald Dwight, this piano player gained international success when he teamed up with lyricist Bernie Taupin.  Together they have worked on over 30 different music LP's and produced some of the greatest music of the 1970s.

Just a few Elton John hits are “Benny and the Jets”, “Rocket Man,” “Someone Saved my Life Tonight,” “Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word,” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”  In 1975, he took on the role of the Pinball Wizard in The Who's musical opera Tommy.  The film also featured Ann-Margret, Eric Clapton, and a television that spewed baked beans.

He once stated “I'm the most well-known homosexual in the world.”  Well, he is the most well-known admitted homosexual.  There is a very big closet in Hollywood, hiding hundreds of actors.

Elton once said, “I think people should be free to engage in any sexual practices they choose; they should draw the line at goats though.”  Although there are some goats who are just asking for it….

Over the years, Elton has won six Grammy Awards.  That means we are only six behind him!
