Videos created by students at three Texas high schools — Richardson High School, Bay Area Christian School in League City and Sharyland Pioneer High School in Mission — are among the finalists in a nationwide campaign to promote safe driving among teen drivers.
The Drive 2N2 Campaign is aimed at spreading the idea of driving with two eyes on the road and 2 hands on the wheel among younger drivers. Campaign organizers hope to reduce distracted driving and help new drivers build confidence on the road at the same time.
As the Drive 2N2 website points out, car crashes are the #1 killer of teens, and the first year of driving is the most dangerous. So Drive 2N2 was created in an effort to combat this epidemic and raise awareness around the importance of teen driver safety.
Schools from across the USA have created videos, from which 100 finalists were chosen to be put to a popular vote. 22 high schools will each win $100,000 grants, and one will also win a private concert with the band Echosmith.
Voting is over, but the winning video will be announced on Dec. 10.
