Death of Segway owner Jimi HeseldenJimi Heselden, the 62-year-old tycoon who purchased the Segway Company in December 2009, was killed Sunday morning when the Segway X2 Adventure he was riding went over a cliff and into the River Wharfe in England.

Police have officially labeled this “death by misadventure,” the British legal term for an accidental death. So far there are no indications of anything suspicious in the Heselden’s death, but that hasn’t stopped the jokes.

Heselden, reportedly worth $262m at the time of his death, was one of the modest sort of philanthropists who had given at least £23m ($36m) to charity in recent years but did not like talk about his charitable gifts.
